Foreign direct investment, net inflows in reporting economy (DRS, current US$) — every country, all years (World Bank)

Foreign direct investment (net) shows the net change in foreign investment in the reporting country. Foreign direct investment is defined as investment that is made to acquire a lasting management interest (usually of 10 percent of voting stock) in an enterprise operating in a country other than that of the investor (defined according to residency), the investor's purpose being an effective voice in the management of the enterprise. It is the sum of equity capital, reinvestment of earnings, other long-term capital, and short-term capital as shown in the balance of payments. This series shows net inflows in the reporting economy. Data are in current U.S. dollars. Every country, region and year the World Bank publishes for indicator BX.KLT.DINV.CD.DT (International Debt Statistics: DSSI), delivered as a tidy table — country, ISO code, year and value — ready for analysis in Excel, R, Python or the Intigal AI workspace. Original compiler: International Monetary Fund, Balance of Payments, supplemented by data from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and official national sources. Data starting from 2005 are based the sixt.
