Mudflow/Rockflow Impact Assessment in Rasuwa & Nuwakot Districts, Bagmati Province, Nepal as of 26–27 August 2026

UNOSAT code: FL20260826NPL, GDACS ID: 1104124 This map illustrates the cumulative satellite-detected mudflow/rockflow extent derived from Sentinel-2 imagery acquired on 27 August 2026 and PlanetScope imagery acquired on 26 August 2026. Within the analysed area of approximately 350 km², an estimated 37 km² of land appears to be affected by floodwaters. Approximately 120 km of roads are potentially affected by the mapped flood/mudflow extent. Based on building footprint data, approximately 5,000 buildings are exposed to or located near the affected areas. The highest concentration is observed in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot District, with approximately 2,600 buildings, followed by Gosaikunda Municipality, Rasuwa District, with approximately 1,030 buildings potentially affected. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to the Uni Publisher: United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) (via Humanitarian Data Exchange (UN OCHA)). Delivered as a cleaned, analysis-ready Excel table.
