Proportion of women ages 15-49 who experienced one or more acts of sexual violence by a non-partner (that is, someone other than a current or former husband or male intimate partner) in the last 12 months, calculated as the share of women reporting such experience among all women in the same age group (all women at risk). Sexual violence includes being forced, coerced, threatened, or intimidated to perform any unwanted sexual act. This may include rape, attempted rape, unwanted sexual touching, or non-contact forms of sexual violence. Every country, region and year the World Bank publishes for indicator SG.VAW.NPSV.1549.ME.ZS (Gender Statistics), delivered as a tidy table — country, ISO code, year and value — ready for analysis in Excel, R, Python or the Intigal AI workspace. Original compiler: The United Nations Inter-Agency Working Group on Violence Against Women Estimation and Data (VAW-IAWGED) (WHO, UN Women, UNICEF, UNSD, UNFPA, UNODC).
